A redesigned door bracket for improved ease of use
New housing with a rope release trigger on the side
Traction poundage limited to approximately 25 lbs for patient safety
Gone is the adjustable, heavy steel bracket. In its place we have a lightweight bracket made from a high impact injection molded plastic. To adjust the bracket to the many different door widths, we have designed a simple “peg and hole” method to adjust the width. The bracket also has a wider base against the door to better distribute the weight forces thereby reducing potential damage to the more common hollow core doors we see being installed in homes. The new housing for the tension spring eliminates the standard PVC pipe used to hold the tension spring and the old rope ratchet. The tension spring is now encased in a blue injection‐molded housing with a rope release trigger on the side. Also, now the traction poundage is limited to approximately 25 lbs.
Important:
The new NeckPro II cervical traction device limits the amount of traction poundage to approximately 25 lbs. Once the maximum limit is reached and you continue to pull on the rope, the rope will release (i.e. slip). You can then retighten the rope prior to the release point.
One method of adding a little more traction is to relax your shoulders and slightly slump in the chair. This can add a few more pounds of traction. If you slump too much though, the rope will release and slide. You can then retighten the rope. This release of tension is a safety mechanism as you have gone over the maximum poundage. Having a maximum poundage limit was added for patient safety.
Advantages:
Invented by a practicing physician, who is board-certified in Emergency Medicine, NeckPro is an over-the-door cervical traction unit for home use. It is safe and effective when used as directed to relieve pain associated with:
Simple, easy, effective, portable & affordable
No assembly required. No cumbersome weights, waterbags or pulleys
Most user-friendly cervical traction unit available
Head and neck are not locked in one position but remain free allowing rotation and extension concurrent with traction to achieve maximum mobility and relaxation. The ratcheting mechanism enables incremental adjustment of the tension without having to dismantle and reassemble the unit.
Tension is directed unilinear and is referenced by an audible signal or clicking sound of the ratchet mechanism.
