The spenoid, occipital, and 2 temporal bones form the basis of the skull; the 2 parietal bones, frontal bone, ethmoid bone and vomer are then fitted to the sphenoid. The right and left maxilla finish the facial portion. Facial and cranial bones are connected to each other by the zygomatic bones. Finally, the mandible fits into sockets with a hinged joint.
